Saturday, January 9th, 10:00 am- The teachers, madrachim, some high school students and Education Director of Temple Beth-El's Brown Religious School will be reading Torah & Haftarah during Shabbat services in the Okun Chapel.
Wednesday, January 13th, 7:30 pm- Torah Study will be held with Rabbi Creditor in the Kiddush room. Open to all!
Saturday, January 16th, 10:30 am- Shorashim, for grades K, 1 & 2, will be held in the Kiddush room.
Saturday, January 23rd, 10:30 am- Tot Shabbat, for ages 0-5, will be held in the Kiddush room.
Friday, January 29th, 7:00 pm- Tu B' Shevat dinner will be held after 6:00 p.m. Shabbat services. The menu will include seven species salad, Tu B'Shevat fruity chicken, pearled barley pilaf, steamed vegetable medley, almond horseshoes & dried fruit compote, coffee & tea. The children's menu will be chicken nuggets, fish sticks, roasted potatoes, seven species salad, steamed vegetable medley and dessert. Dinner prices are $13 for adult members; $15 for adult non-members; $6 for children ages 6-12; and free for children 5 and under. Please RSVP to the Temple office (804-355-3564) by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26th.
Following dinner, we will collectively study a Tu B'Shevat Haggadah developed by Congregation Beth Sholom in San Francisco. It powerfully focuses on one of the crucial issues of our time that will determine the lives of our children and generations to come. We will dine on fruit and nuts, read the script and hopefully be galvanized into action!
Saturday, January 30th, 10:30 am- Junior Congregation, for grades 3, 4 & 5, will be held in the Okun Chapel.
