These classes are open to the entire Jewish community and will meet at Temple Beth-El's Jacob & Selma Brown Religious School on Parham Road. One section of the class is designed for parents of children 2 through 12 years of age. The second section will address the concerns of parents of pre-teens and teenagers.
Topics to be discussed include:
- A deeper understanding of Jewish thought and application of its teachings to contemporary parenting.
- Effective parent-child communications.
- Establishing appropriate boundaries and limits.
- Parenting toward independence and self-reliance.
- How the popular culture works in opposition to Jewish values, and what parents can do to counteract this influence.
