Session 9:  Two Rabbis, Three Opinions

Speakers: Rabbi Dovid Asher of Keneseth Beth Israel (a congregation affiliated with Judaism’s Orthodox denomination) and Rabbi Michael Knopf of Temple Beth-El (a congregation affiliated with Judaism’s Conservative  denomination)

Moderated by Dr. David Weinfeld,  professor of Jewish studies at VCU

According to a Yiddish proverb, when two rabbis gather, they’re likely to express at least three opinions. Join us at Encounter RVA as we explore the views of two of Richmond’s leading rabbis.  These two dynamic spiritual leaders will discuss their similar but different approaches to Judaism, covering such topics as faith, politics, gender, sexuality, Israel, the nature of the Bible, and the meaning of life.
