Dear Friends,

Thank you for warmly welcoming our candidates to TBE during the winter and spring. All three candidates who have visited us shared feedback about the kindness and generosity of our community. We also thank everyone for sharing your perspectives through our Feedback Surveys. Your feedback was carefully considered by the Cantor Search Committee and guided all of our recommendations.

This update is regarding our most recent visiting cantor, Neal Taibel. Neal received overwhelmingly positive survey feedback from the congregation, and we invited him to move forward in our search process. However, he has decided to take a position with another congregation. While we are disappointed, we wish him all the best with his next steps. 

At this time, we do not have any active candidates remaining in our pool, so the April 28th Congregational Meeting is canceled. However, the Cantor Search Committee is continuing to meet and will be sharing a full report and recommendations for next steps at the Annual Meeting in May. We are including Rabbi Salston in our discussions so that everyone is aligned as we move forward. 
Please be assured that we have worked diligently up to this point to identify strong candidates for this important role.

Thank you to the members of our committee who have worked tirelessly as a team this year:  Heather Rosenberg, Isaac Skromne, Linda Price, Marc Greenberg, Mike Doniger, Neil Halpert and Tracy Retchin. We also want to recognize  members who participated in the Cantor Search Committee prior to this year:  Jake Millhouse, Jennie O’Halleran, Nina Lankin, Robin Low, and Rabbi Knopf.
