The Talmud teaches that 30 days before Passover, we should start learning about the holiday and its meaning. In that spirit, I humbly offer "30 Days of Liberation." For each of the next 30 days, I will offer a brief message drawn from the wisdom of Passover. I hope you find these messages meaningful and inspiring. Feel free to share/forward.
30 Days of Liberation: Day 21 The term Passover comes from the tradition that God killed only Egyptians during the 10th plague, passing over the homes of the Israelites and sparing their first born. Not an indiscriminate force within nature, the God of the Bible has will and moral discernment, deliberately distinguishing between right and wrong, good and bad, innocent and guilty, bending the arc of history toward justice. No one can know for sure if this understanding of God is factually true. We can nevertheless understand the value it imparts: the universe is amoral. It (unfortunately) doesn’t discern between righteous and evil. History only progresses in the trajectory of justice if acted upon by an outside force. As God’s only creation with godlike consciousness and moral judgment, we human beings can and must be that outside force. Emulating God, we can and must help bend the arc of history toward justice.
We have raised over $71,000--- almost 75%!! Help us get to the $100,000 goal!
