Join us for a special session from the director of Givat Haviva International School in Israel.   This school and speaker were a highlight during the congregational trip to Israel in June of 2018.   Free session, space is limited to 20 people.

Givat Haviva International School (GHIS) seeks to transform the Middle East and beyond by developing a powerful network of future leaders equipped to create solutions to conflict and spur change towards more inclusive, sustainable and just societies.

This is the only international school in the world that is located in a conflict zone, and aimed at growing a different kind of leaders - who will develop their critical thinking by exposure to all narratives and opinions, and then lead to a more inclusive society.

GHIS is a school for passionate young people aged 16-19 who have interest in social activism and leadership potential. Half of the student body will be Arabs and Jews from Israel and half from countries around the world. Students will live and learn together, speaking English, breaking down barriers and creating life-long friendships.

Students will study the internationally-respected IB Diploma Programme which prepares them for success in higher education and to be active participants in a global society. This will be accompanied by a tailored program of conflict resolution, leadership development and social entrepreneurship. They will visit diverse and conflicted societies and volunteer in projects creating change on the ground.

Givat Haviva, home of Givat Haviva International School, is a non-profit organization, founded in 1949. It has since emerged as one of the world’s leading educational centers for cross-cultural and peace education. conflict resolution, and promoting civic equality and empowerment in Israel and internationally. Givat Haviva has received considerable international recognition for its work, including the UNESCO Prize of Peace Education.
